PlanetGOLD Global Forum 2024 Part II

A NOTE FROM FUTURA FOUNDER

I just returned from the planetGold forum in the Philippines. I was in invited by the United Nations to address most of the 147 countries that signed the Minamata Convention with a commitment to end the use of mercury in artisanal and small scale gold mining.

My participation was focused on consumer education and awareness, how we can get consumers more engaged in solving the mercury emissions threat from gold mining and how we can get larger prominent jewelry brands to make the change to mercury free mined gold from recycled and dirty gold.

With all the humility in the world, I was proud to address all these worldwide representatives and provide them with my perspective of progress and hope.
Futura Jewelry set out on a mission 7 years ago without knowing if it could make a difference. After my participation in the forum, many representatives came over and thanked me for the actions we have taken and encouraged us to please keep going. I’m thankful to report we are on a good and necessary path and yes all of us no matter how small can make a difference.

You can watch video of my answers from the forum above.
